Josh Mueller of Halstead has been appointed as the vice chair of the Kansas Beef Council (KBC). He will work alongside KBC Chairman Jake Pann backer to guide the council's operations over the next year. Mueller brings extensive experience in cattle marketing and ranching to his leadership role.
As a fourth-generation farmer and rancher, Mueller has a rich background in the beef industry. Since 2019, he and his family have operated a livestock auction those markets nearly 70,000 head of cattle annually.
Additionally, Mueller has been a representative for Superior Livestock Auction for 20 years and owns an order-buying business. His expertise in these areas is expected to greatly benefit the council.
Mueller has been a part of the KBC Executive Committee since 2018 and currently serves on the Federation of State Beef Councils. His leadership roles have also included serving as a KLA county chair and president of a local livestock association. His commitment to the beef industry extends to both state and national levels.
In addition to Mueller’s appointment, three new members have joined the KBC Executive Committee: Natalie Hoagland, Brooke Johnson, and Andy Larson.
They will work with the existing committee members, representing a diverse group of Kansas cattle producers. This team collaborates to manage checkoff funds effectively, ensuring Kansas continues to excel in promoting beef both domestically and globally.
The Kansas Beef Council remains dedicated to advancing the interests of cattle producers and promoting high-quality beef. With its strong leadership, the council is poised to tackle challenges and seize opportunities in the beef industry.
