Kansas Ag Growth Summit Scheduled for August in Manhattan

By Scout Nelson

The 2025 Agricultural Growth Summit is set for August 14 in Manhattan, Kansas, and will bring together livestock producers, farmers, and agriculture industry leaders from across the state. Hosted by the Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA), the event is free to attend.

Unlike previous years, this year’s summit will take place in the afternoon, beginning with a light lunch and followed by a meeting and social gathering on the same day, instead of the evening prior.

The event will be held at the K-State Alumni Center from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the social beginning at 5:00 p.m. This new format is designed to offer convenience and flexibility to attendees traveling from different regions.

A highlight of the summit will be a keynote presentation by Tanner Ehmke, an economist at CoBank. A native of Kansas and a graduate of Kansas State University, Ehmke will address economic challenges facing Kansas agriculture and discuss trends that could shape the future of the industry.

Following the keynote, breakout sessions will explore key themes such as research and value-added opportunities in the agricultural sector. These sessions will provide attendees with actionable insights and ideas to support continued growth and innovation in Kansas agriculture.

“This event provides an excellent opportunity for agriculture leaders and stakeholders to connect, learn, and shape the future of the industry,” organizers noted.

To attend, participants can register online at www.agriculture.ks.gov/summit

The Ag Growth Summit continues to be a valuable event for building collaboration and identifying new ways to strengthen Kansas agriculture and rural communities.
