The State Conservation Commission (SCC) has announced its regular meeting for Monday, March 17, 2025, which will take place from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The venue for this gathering is the USDA Service Center, located at 3705 Miller Parkway A, Manhattan, Kansas. Additionally, for those unable to attend in person, a virtual participation option will be provided.
Commission Composition and Role: The SCC is composed of a diverse group of members including five elected commissioners and four appointed members. These appointed members represent two significant bodies: the Kansas State University Agriculture Experiment Station and Cooperative Extension Service, and the Kansas Department of Agriculture alongside the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service. This composition ensures a comprehensive approach to agricultural and conservation issues.
