Kansas Youth Prepare for KJLS 2025

By Scout Nelson

The 2025 Kansas Junior Livestock Show (KJLS) is now accepting online entries for its annual event, scheduled to take place from October 3–5 at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson.

Participants are encouraged to submit their entries at www.kjls.net before the midnight deadline on August 15 to avoid paying higher fees. Late entries will be accepted until August 31, but they will cost double the regular fee.

All event details, including the complete entry process, scholarship applications, LEAD contest rules, and the full show schedule, can be found on the KJLS website. Participants are reminded to check for updates and several schedule changes specific to this year’s event. Scholarship applications must also be submitted by August 15.

Another highlight of the event is the Kansas Livestock Foundation (KLF) Club Calf Sale, which will be held on October 4 alongside the KJLS. The deadline to consign calves for the sale is September 12. Proceeds from this sale support Youth in Agriculture scholarships offered through the KLF.

“We encourage early entries to ensure participants can take full advantage of the show opportunities, scholarships, and contests,” said event organizers.

To consign calves for the KLF sale or for further details, visit the official KJLS website or contact Stephen Russell at (785) 273-5115. Online consignment submissions are also accepted through the provided link.

The Kansas Junior Livestock Show continues to provide a platform for youth to showcase their livestock, gain valuable experience, and benefit from scholarship support in their  agricultural education journey.
