Registration is now open for the Virginia Regional Ag Tour, a five-day experience scheduled for August 25–29. The tour showcases the diversity of agriculture across the Commonwealth, from specialty crops to aquaculture and innovative agritourism. Participants will also visit historic landmarks that shaped the United States, creating a learning experience that blends farming today with America’s past.
The journey begins in Richmond on the evening of Monday, August 25. Over the next several days, attendees will travel across the state to meet producers, see on-farm practices, and hear how Virginia agriculture adapts to markets, weather, and technology. Featured stops highlight specialty crop operations, coastal aquaculture sites, and agritourism destinations that welcome visitors while supporting local economies.
The tour concludes in Norfolk on Thursday evening, allowing travelers to book flights home on Friday, August 29. Registration costs are $1,500 for a single traveler and $2,200 for double occupancy. Airfare is not included and must be purchased separately. Participants are responsible for travel to and from the airport, an average of one meal per day, and incidental expenses.
This tour is designed for learners of all ages, including students, educators, and farm professionals. It offers an up-close look at how farms manage resources, diversify income, and tell their stories to the public.
