BIG BEAN Field Trials Show Strong Soybean Yield Gains

BIG BEAN Field Trials Show Strong Soybean Yield Gains

By Scout Nelson

On-farm trials conducted by Ag Partners Cooperative and soybean growers in northeast Kansas are highlighting the potential benefits of a soybean nutrition and stress-management product called BIG BEAN. Agronomists and farmers reported improvements in plant growth, crop health, and yield performance, particularly during challenging growing conditions.

Field evaluations showed treated soybeans developed larger leaf areas, stronger branching, more pod-setting sites, and improved root systems. These plant characteristics can help support greater yield potential throughout the season.

Soybean management has become a growing focus for many producers looking to improve profitability. As corn production systems become more refined, growers are increasingly investing in practices and products that can help maximize soybean performance.

Developed by Planet Earth Agronomy, BIG BEAN combines micronutrients, amino acids, and biostimulants designed to support plant growth and reduce the impact of environmental stress. The product is intended to help soybeans maintain productivity during periods of adverse growing conditions.

A key component of the formulation is boron, which can help address nutrient shortages that sometimes occur following post-emergence herbicide applications. The product also contains molybdenum to support nitrogen utilization, along with ingredients aimed at enhancing overall plant resilience.

Field observations indicated that treated soybean plants developed a more robust structure, increased branching, and additional pod-bearing nodes. Improved plant architecture may help support higher yields while reducing harvest losses by helping plants remain upright.

Trial results showed yield gains of five to eight bushels per acre in many locations, with some fields reporting increases of up to 12 bushels per acre. These outcomes have generated interest among growers seeking to protect yield potential and improve returns.

Planet Earth Agronomy says its crop nutrition programs are designed to deliver measurable return on investment by helping farmers enhance productivity, improve nutrient efficiency, manage stress, and support stronger overall crop performance.
