The search continues for the next dean of the College of Agriculture and director of Kansas State University Research and Extension. Two candidates are still set to be interviewed with sessions in Manhattan and Garden City.
Christopher Gunter, professor and chair of the horticultural sciences department at the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, will meet attendees today. His session in Regnier Hall on the Manhattan campus will take place from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. He will then meet with participants in the Endowment Room of the Beth Tedrow Student Center at Garden City Community College from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Darrell Donahue, professor and special assistant to the provost and president at West Virginia University, is scheduled for interviews on April 30. His sessions will follow the same times and locations as Gunter’s.
Community members who cannot attend in person can still participate in the Garden City town halls via Zoom. Those interested should contact Craig Bourne at cbourne@k-state.edu to request an invitation link.
Earlier in the selection process, Jane Schuh, professor and associate dean of research and graduate studies at K-State’s College of Agriculture, was interviewed on April 17. Manpreet Singh, professor and head of the food science and technology department at the University of Georgia, was interviewed on April 22.
These town hall sessions offer the university community and the public a chance to meet the candidates and ask questions as K-State moves closer to selecting its new agriculture leader.
