The Sorghum Connection Series is set to return in 2025, offering Kansas farmers and researchers a closer look at key developments in sorghum production. Scheduled from August 27 to 29, the event will be hosted across three locations in Kansas: Bavaria, Russell, and Dighton.
“The Kansas Grain Sorghum Commission, K-State Research and Extension’s Central Kansas and Midway Districts, and the K-State Department of Plant Pathology will host the 2025 Sorghum Connection series August 27–29 in Bavaria, Russell and Dighton, Kansas.”
Each stop on the tour will highlight over 700 applied research plots, giving attendees an opportunity to explore ongoing studies in cropping systems and sorghum-related innovations. Topics featured include hybrid performance, fertility trials, seed treatments, fungicide usage, and insecticide applications.
This event offers a valuable learning opportunity for producers, agronomists, and students alike. Participants will gain insights into how different sorghum hybrids respond to varying conditions and inputs. Researchers will share their findings and observations directly from the field, allowing for hands-on learning.
The series is designed to support improved farming practices and enhance understanding of plant health, crop yields, and sustainability in sorghum production. Whether evaluating fertilizer effectiveness or exploring protection methods against pests and diseases, the Sorghum Connection Series provides practical knowledge backed by field research.
With growing interest in sorghum as a resilient and resource-efficient crop, this annual series continues to serve as a strong platform for education and innovation in Kansas agriculture.
Attendees are encouraged to plan early to participate in this interactive experience. More event details, including specific times and agendas for each location, are expected to be announced soon.
