Kansas Sorghum Stocks Up 270 Percent from 2021



Kansas corn stocks in all positions on June 1, 2022 totaled 182 million bushels, down 10% from 2021, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Of the total, 48.0 million bushels are stored on farms, up 4% from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 134 million bushels, are down 14% from last year.

Wheat stored in all positions totaled 170 million bushels, down 20% from a year ago. On-farm stocks of 3.50 million bushels are unchanged from 2021, but off-farm stocks of 167 million bushels are down 20% from last year.

Sorghum stored in all positions totaled 85.9 million bushels, up 270% from 2021. On-farm stocks of 2.45 million bushels are up 96% from a year ago, and off-farm stocks of 83.5 million bushels are up 280% from last year.

Soybeans stored in all positions totaled 43.1 million bushels, up 10% from last year. On-farm stocks of 10.5 million bushels are up 35% from a year ago, and off-farm stocks, at 32.6 million bushels, are up 4% from 2021.

Off farm oat stocks totaled 193,000 bushels, up 4% from 2021.
