National Ag Day 2026 Honors Farming Legacy

National Ag Day 2026 Honors Farming Legacy

By Jamie Martin

National Ag Day will be observed on March 24, 2026, as announced by the Agriculture Council of America. This annual celebration focuses on raising awareness about agriculture and its essential role in daily life. Agriculture supports food production, jobs, and economic growth across the nation.

The theme for 2026, Agriculture Together We Grow Celebrating 250 Years of Progress in Agriculture, reflects unity within the agricultural community. It recognizes the combined efforts of farmers, ranchers, and industry partners who work together to provide reliable and affordable agricultural products. The theme also honors centuries of progress that have shaped modern farming practices.

Several events are planned to mark the day. A national virtual event will begin at 9:00 a.m., offering a live stream from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This online option allows students, educators, and the public to take part regardless of location.

In Washington, D.C., an in-person Ag Day program will take place at the USDA Whitten Patio from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The agenda includes speeches from agriculture leaders, student panel discussions, and presentations from commodity group representatives. Educational videos from student essay winners will also be shared.

An evening Taste of Agriculture reception will be held at the Russell Senate Office Building. This gathering will highlight agricultural products while encouraging conversation among policymakers and industry stakeholders.

Supporters can participate by attending events or sponsoring National Ag Day activities. These efforts help strengthen public understanding of agriculture and inspire future generations. National Ag Day continues to serve as an important reminder of agriculture’s lasting impact and its role in shaping a sustainable future.
