Kansas Corn Education Event 2026

Kansas Corn Education Event 2026

By Scout Nelson

The Kansas Corn Symposium returned to Salina, Kansas, on Thursday, January 29, 2026. The event was held at the Hilton Garden Inn and brought together corn producers for education, policy updates, networking, and recognition activities. The annual symposium served as a key learning and planning opportunity for the Kansas corn industry.

Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Kansas Corn Lunch. Attendees were able to connect with industry partners and prepare for a full afternoon of meetings and presentations. The lunch session created space for discussion and sharing of ideas.

The keynote session featured Steve Lerch, a former Google executive and artificial intelligence expert. He shared simple ways artificial intelligence could be used as an easy tool on farms. His session focused on improving daily work, farm planning, and decision making using digital tools.

“We are bringing one of the nation’s top artificial intelligence experts to the Kansas Corn Symposium. Whether you’re on the fence about AI or are already using it, you won’t want to miss this session with AI expert Steve Lerch,” said Kansas Corn CEO Josh Roe. “You’ll walk away with a better understanding of artificial intelligence, and AI tools you can use on the farm and in your everyday life.”

Following the keynote, the Kansas Corn Growers Association held its annual meeting. Members reviewed and approved resolutions for 2026 and elected board members for multiple districts. This meeting allowed growers to help guide the organization’s future direction.

Participants also received policy and program updates from the Kansas Corn Commission and the Kansas Corn Growers Association. These updates included information on E15, trade matters, farm programs, market development, and education efforts.

Later in the day, attendees joined the Kansas Corn reception. Snacks and beverages were provided while participants met with corn researchers, cooperators, and industry partners. The evening concluded with the Kansas Corn Dinner, where yield contest winners were recognized.

The symposium was offered at no cost through sponsor support. Participants were encouraged to pre-register online at https://kscorn.com/symposium to assist with meal planning and event logistics. Attendees were also invited to continue learning at the Kansas Commodity Classic held the following day at the same location.
