RCPP Funding Opens for Colorado Farms

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service in partnership with Colorado West Land Trust has announced a new conservation funding opportunity under the Regional Conservation Partnership Program. This program supports farmers who want to improve wildlife habitats and protect valuable farmland.

The funding opportunity is available to eligible producers in selected areas of Delta Gunnison and Montrose counties. The deadline for submitting complete applications is February 2 2026 at 4 PM Mountain Standard Time.

Farmers can apply under the Land Management program if they are located within the approved project area and have updated farm records with the Farm Service Agency. This program focuses on restoring natural land processes improving aquatic and land habitats and supporting voluntary conservation efforts.

The program also offers an Entity Held Easement option for landowners who wish to permanently protect their land. Under this option USDA can cover up to fifty percent of the land’s appraised value. Landowners maintain ownership and can continue farming while protecting important conservation values.

Eligible organizations must demonstrate their ability to manage easements and commit to long term land stewardship. All applications must be fully completed and submitted with required documents by the deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Applications may be submitted by email courier service or postal mail as directed by program guidelines. All qualified applications will be reviewed and ranked for funding eligibility for fiscal year 2026.

This funding opportunity offers farmers an important chance to protect their land support wildlife and strengthen long term environmental sustainability.
