Certified Angus Beef is hosting a Beef Quality Assurance training event in partnership with Sysco as part of the Raised with Respect initiative. The event is scheduled for May 7 in Manhattan and will take place at Foote Cattle Company from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by a program and dinner.
The training aims to help participants learn proper cattle care practices and improve livestock management. It will focus on key Beef Quality Assurance principles, which are important for maintaining animal health, product quality, and consumer trust in the beef industry.
The session will be led by Dan Thomson, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and managing partner of Production Animal Consultation. He will guide participants through important topics and highlight areas where the industry can improve.
Participants who complete their BQA certification during the event will have the chance to win prizes, including a YETI cooler filled with Certified Angus Beef steaks. This adds an element of motivation and engagement for attendees.
After the training session, participants will enjoy a steak dinner and gain additional insights from Glynn Tonsor of Kansas State University. He will provide an update on beef demand, helping producers understand current market trends, and make informed decisions.
The event will also include a meet-and-greet with Chris Klieman, offering attendees a chance to connect and interact in a relaxed setting.
This training provides a valuable opportunity for producers to improve their knowledge, earn certification, and stay updated on industry trends. It also encourages networking and learning within the agriculture community.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to register in advance using the link. Early registration helps organizers plan better and ensures a smooth event experience for all participants.
