Election 2024 - Dive into candidates' Ag plans

By Jamie Martin

The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) has once again provided voters with insight into the agricultural stances of presidential candidates.

As part of a longstanding tradition spanning over four decades, AFBF presents a questionnaire to presidential hopefuls, asking them to detail their positions on various agricultural topics. This year’s survey touched on fourteen key issues ranging from crop insurance and taxes to sustainability and labor in the agricultural sector. Both current and former presidential contenders have participated, giving voters a clear view of their policies on issues crucial to rural and farming communities.

The responses, made available unedited, offer a direct insight into the candidates' plans and priorities concerning agriculture, ensuring that voters can make informed decisions based on the perspectives of those vying for the presidency.

The questionnaire covers a wide array of topics including regulatory reform, food system resilience, and energy policies, reflecting the breadth of challenges and opportunities within the agricultural sector.

By focusing on these specific issues, AFBF aims to highlight the importance of agriculture in national policy discussions, underscoring the significant impact these policies have on rural communities and the lives of farmers and ranchers across the country.

This initiative not only informs voters but also allows candidates to directly address the concerns of a critical sector of the American populace.
