The 2025 Cattle Feeders Hall of Fame will soon welcome two new inductees, and voting is now underway. Among this year’s nominees are two influential figures from Kansas whose legacies in the livestock industry continue to inspire.
One nominee helped transform a single feedyard into a network of five cattle feeding and background operations across the state. These facilities had a combined capacity of approximately 30,000 head. He was an active member of several livestock associations and known for his dedication to cattle feeding advancements and industry engagement.
The second nominee established a diversified business that included a farming enterprise, cattle feeding operations, and an order buying business. What started with one feedyard eventually grew to a multi-location enterprise with a total capacity of 285,000 head, spanning across Kansas and Nebraska. The business also expanded into farming, ranching, and banking, and continues under the leadership of his family.
Both nominees are recognized posthumously for their industry-changing work, leadership, and vision that shaped the future of cattle feeding in Kansas and beyond. Their contributions have had a lasting impact on feedyard operations, rural economies, and livestock communities.
“It is an honor to see such dedicated contributors remembered and celebrated,” said an industry spokesperson.
The Cattle Feeders Hall of Fame celebrates individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the cattle feeding business. The two inductees for the upcoming year will be determined by the number of votes received.
Community members and industry stakeholders can now participate in the voting process to help honor those who have helped grow and strengthen the cattle industry over the decades.
