Kansas Corn has joined the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) to announce the 61st annual National Corn Yield Contest. Early registration opens May 15, 2025, inviting corn growers to participate in this prestigious competition.
Growers in Kansas who enter the National Corn Yield Contest are automatically included in the Kansas Corn Yield Contest. This dual registration allows farmers to submit just one registration and harvest form for both contests, making the process simpler and more efficient.
“The Kansas Corn Yield Contest is linked to the national contest, allowing growers to submit one registration and one harvest form for both the national and state contests. Updates have been made to make the process as smooth and easy as possible,” said Emily Koop, Kansas Corn Director of Growers Services. “Our state-level contest encourages innovation and celebrates farmers who achieve exceptional yields.”
Registration for the contest is open until August 13, 2025, at ncga.com. Growers can register early by June 30 at a discounted fee of $75. After that, the full registration rate of $110 applies through August 13. Harvest forms must be submitted by November 30. Many seed companies offer to cover entry and membership fees for growers through the NCYC voucher program.
In Kansas, participants compete for cash prizes and recognition across ten districts, separated into irrigated and non-irrigated categories. Awards also include the top three winners in the state’s Nitrogen Management Class. Kansas prizes will be presented at the Kansas Corn Symposium in January 2026.
National winners receive recognition in agricultural publications and awards sponsored by seed, chemical, and crop protection companies. Winners will be honored at the 2026 Commodity Classic in San Antonio.
This contest provides Kansas and national corn growers a valuable opportunity to showcase their skills, adopt new management techniques, and gain well-deserved recognition.
