Merck Animal Health continues to invest in the future of agricultural education through its ongoing Cartridges for Cash scholarship program, conducted in partnership with the Kansas Livestock Foundation (KLF).
The initiative funds annual scholarships by encouraging members to turn in used Ralgro and Revalor cartridges. For every cartridge collected, the company donates 25 cents toward KLF scholarships.
This long-running program provided a total of $9,500 in scholarships for the 2025-2026 school year, including one $1,000 award designated for a student from the county that collected the most cartridges.
The scholarship helps support students pursuing education and careers in agriculture, reinforcing the livestock industry’s dedication to community development and leadership growth.
Collection efforts are currently underway for the 2026-2027 scholarship cycle. Members can drop off used cartridges at the Merck Animal Health booth during the KLA Convention & Expo, scheduled for November 19–21 in Manhattan, Kansas.
Cartridges also may be turned in at local KLA county meetings or fall roundtables prior to the convention. When submitting cartridges, participants should specify their home county for proper recordkeeping and competition recognition.
Merck’s program continues to demonstrate how small actions can create significant educational opportunities. Each cartridge collected contributes to the next generation of agricultural professionals and strengthens ties between producers, students, and the industry.
The Cartridges for Cash initiative reflects Merck Animal Health’s ongoing commitment to youth education and livestock advancement—empowering future leaders to build a stronger agricultural future for Kansas and beyond.
