Paola FFA Excels at Kansas State Career Development Events


Paola FFA members showcased their skills and achieved remarkable success at the recent Kansas FFA State Career Development Events held at Kansas State University. The Farm Business Management Team emerged as state champions, with all four team members achieving top 10 rankings. Hayley Hines claimed the individual state championship, followed by Wade Enman in third place, Lane Beery in fifth place, and Jade Meade in ninth place.

With a comfortable 14-point lead, Paola FFA will proudly represent Kansas at the national competition in November. Additionally, the Paola Ag Sales Team secured third place overall, featuring Alyssa Bartlett as the individual state champion, Kayden Worthey in fourth place, and Ellie Baska and Emmalee Morris.

The Paola Meat Evaluation Team achieved fifth place overall, with notable performances by Hayley Hines in fourth place, Kira Johnson, Kylie Hines, and Wade Enman. The Paola Poultry Evaluation Team secured seventh place overall, consisting of Kara Helms, Ellie Baska, Alyssa Bartlett, and Gabe Bueker.

Paola FFA members displayed their expertise in various other categories as well. The Paola Dairy Cattle Team, featuring Dakota Smith, Chailey January, Sam Johnson, and Lane Beery, achieved a commendable Top 15 finish. The Paola Nursery/Landscape Team, composed of Cate Minden, Jade Meade, Nich Nelson, and Mady Smotherman, also finished in the Top 15.

Similarly, the Paola Ag Mechanics Team, including Kayden Worthey, Christian Herman, Sam Johnson, and Bryson Schull, secured a Top 15 position. The Paola Vet Science Team, represented by Evan Reitinger, Malorie Stephens, Kara Helms, and Kena Leonard, showcased their skills in the veterinary science category. The Paola Food Science Team, consisting of Evan Reitinger, Gabe Bueker, Emmalee Morris, and Alyssa Bartlett, displayed their knowledge and proficiency.

In addition to the team achievements, Paola FFA member Augustus Wright was named a state proficiency award finalist for his supervised agricultural experience. His accomplishments in Vegetable Production and Diversified Crop Production earned him recognition, and he eagerly awaits the state-level results in June to determine if he will be a state winner in either area.

Paola FFA's exceptional performance across multiple categories exemplifies their dedication and commitment to agricultural excellence.
