The Secure Beef Supply (SBS) website has been redesigned to better serve cattle operations by providing enhanced biosecurity resources. Now available at www.securebeef.org, the updated site offers more than 100 tools designed to help users improve disease prevention and preparedness.
The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) led this upgrade, funded by a grant from USDA’s National Animal Disease Preparedness and Response Program. The new design includes simplified language, better organization, and easier navigation based on feedback from producers, veterinarians, state officials, and secure food supply coordinators.
"Producers can use the new resources to be proactive and customize their biosecurity plan before one is needed."
A key feature of the site is its bilingual educational materials, including handouts in English and Spanish and new training videos. These tools support everyday biosecurity planning as well as emergency response preparation, making the information useful and accessible to a wider audience.
Developing a biosecurity plan is a smart risk management step. The SBS website encourages collaboration with veterinarians and others involved in cattle care to create effective and tailored plans. Livestock transporters and producers can also contact an SBS trainer for further guidance by emailing producered@beef.org.
States with designated officials to assist in creating or reviewing biosecurity plans are listed on the site, providing additional support to producers seeking expert input.
This update ensures that the SBS website is more helpful, accessible, and actionable, allowing users to easily find and use the tools they need to protect animal health and maintain secure operations. The refreshed platform reflects the industry’s commitment to proactive biosecurity.
