USDA Invests $5,900 in Haven Community Infrastructure
Kansas Ag Connection - 09/15/2020

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development state director for Kansas Lynne Hinrichsen announced that USDA is investing $5,900 for essential public safety infrastructure in the city of Haven, Kan.

"Public safety services are dependent on the infrastructure and equipment available to them," Hinrichsen said. "Rural community police departments rely on modern infrastructure to both protect themselves and the public. Under the leadership of Agriculture Secretary Perdue and Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development Bette Brand, USDA is dedicated to rural communities like Haven and their long-term commitments to economic prosperity; because when rural America prospers, all of America prospers."

The city of Haven will use a $5,900 Community Facilities Grant to purchase a new patrol vehicle for the Haven Police Department, which provides public safety services for nearly 1,300 people in the Haven area. This project will ensure the efficient public safety service for the community. This civic improvement is made possible because of the partnership with the city, which is contributing $33,725.
