U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins visited Kansas to engage with agricultural leaders on key industry challenges and opportunities. Discussions focused on market expansion, rural economic development, and policy strategies to ensure long-term success for producers.
During her visit, Secretary Rollins participated in a roundtable discussion at a dairy facility in Plains, Kansas, where she met with industry representatives. Topics included economic conditions, regulatory concerns, and disaster assistance programs that impact the agricultural community.
Later, she toured the National Beef Packing Plant in Liberal, Kansas, to observe operations and discuss strategies for strengthening local processing capabilities. She emphasized the importance of ensuring producers have the resources needed to compete in global markets.
On the second day of her visit, Secretary Rollins attended the Top Producer Summit in Kansas City, Missouri. She participated in a fireside chat alongside U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, focusing on international market expansion and the economic landscape of the agricultural sector.
Following the summit, she hosted a policy roundtable with agricultural representatives from multiple states, discussing USDA priorities for the future. Her visit reinforced the administration’s commitment to supporting Kansas agriculture, ensuring rural communities have the tools and resources needed to remain competitive.
Secretary Rollins highlighted the critical role Kansas plays in American agriculture, stating, “Kansas is at the heart of American agriculture, and its farmers and ranchers play a critical role in feeding the world.” Her meetings provided insights that will help shape future policies supporting the industry’s growth and resilience.
