Kansas Animal Health Group Goes Virtual

Kansas Animal Health Group Goes Virtual

By Scout Nelson

The Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Animal Health Advisory Board will hold its next meeting at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. This meeting will take place virtually via Zoom and is part of the board’s regular schedule.

The Animal Health Advisory Board plays a key role in discussing animal health topics across the state. These meetings help guide decisions, provide updates, and allow for public input on matters that affect Kansas’s agricultural and livestock communities.

The meeting is open to all members of the public. Anyone interested in attending can request the Zoom link or ask questions by contacting Dr. Justin Smith, Animal Health Commissioner, at 785-564-6601 or by emailing Justin.Smith@ks.gov.

“Persons who require special accommodations must make their needs known at least two days prior to the meeting.”

This ensures that all participants can access and engage in the meeting fully and comfortably.

Regular board meetings like this one allow for open dialogue between state officials and the agricultural community. It also ensures that Kansas livestock operations remain safe, informed, and supported.

If you are involved in livestock, veterinary work, or animal health policy—or are simply interested in agricultural leadership in Kansas—this virtual session provides a great opportunity to stay informed and contribute.

Mark the calendar and be part of the conversation. Participation helps strengthen animal health efforts throughout Kansas and supports the continued success of agriculture in the state.
