The Feeding Quality Forum, hosted by Certified Angus Beef®, is scheduled for August 14–15, 2025, in Rochester, Minnesota. This annual event invites cattle industry stakeholders from Kansas and beyond to discuss key issues affecting fed cattle production.
Focused on quality-driven outcomes, the forum will include presentations covering the rising demand for premium beef, the importance of precise yield grade assessments, and ways to increase red meat yield. Attendees will also explore how producers can benefit from the growing Prime category.
Special sessions will examine pressing health concerns such as bovine congestive heart failure, while conservation topics will cover practical practices that can improve both land use and herd productivity. Marketing strategies tailored to the evolving cattle industry will also be shared.
In recognition of industry excellence, the 2025 Industry Achievement Award will be presented to Gary Smith, professor emeritus at Texas A&M University. Smith is internationally recognized for his research in meat science, focusing on carcass quality, meat safety, palatability, and retail strategies.
A special pre-event tour of the Upper Iowa Beef packing plant is available for interested attendees. The tour is limited to 30 people, with a separate fee of $50.
Kansas producers, students, and industry partners are encouraged to attend this national level gathering to stay informed and network with fellow professionals.
