Kansas Farmers Wrapping Corn and Soybean Harvests



For the week ending Sunday, there were 6.1 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 43% very short, 32% short, 25% adequate, and 0% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 50% very short, 36% short, 14% adequate, and 0% surplus.

Winter wheat condition rated 20% very poor, 20% poor, 36% fair, 22% good, and 2% excellent. Emerged was 81%, behind 89% last year and 88% for the five-year average.

Soybeans harvested was 96%, ahead of 91% last year and near 92% average.

Sorghum harvested was 95%, ahead of 90% last year and 88% average.

Cotton harvested was 85%, well ahead of 45% last year and 43% average.

Sunflowers harvested was 93%, near 92% last year, and ahead of 87% average.

Pasture and range conditions rated 48% very poor, 29% poor, 18% fair, 5% good, and 0% excellent.
