The Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) recently welcomed Club Agtech, an Argentine inbound trade delegation, for a multi-day tour of Kansas beef operations, processing facilities, and research institutions. The visit, held in mid-August, highlighted opportunities for collaboration between Argentina and Kansas while showcasing advancements within the U.S. beef industry.
The delegation toured beef ranches and witnessed innovative technologies such as virtual fencing systems for livestock management. They also observed diversified farming operations that integrate modern practices with traditional ranching and visited a Kansas beef processing facility that develops value-added products. These experiences offered the group a closer look at progressive breeding programs, modern production systems, and advanced processing strategies.
In addition to site visits, the delegation engaged with faculty members from Kansas State University. Presentations focused on key areas of research, including an overview of U.S. beef production, the role of the Institute for Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics (ID3A), and the growing impact of digitalization in precision livestock management. The academic sessions emphasized how technology and data are shaping a more efficient, sustainable beef industry.
Supporting agriculture in Kansas extends beyond local production. The KDA is committed to building global connections, strengthening trade relations, and promoting Kansas livestock genetics and products in both domestic and international markets. By welcoming international delegations, the department fosters knowledge exchange and creates pathways for cooperation.
“The Kansas Department of Agriculture supports all facets of agriculture, including facilitating opportunities for producers to market and sell livestock genetics both domestically and internationally.”
