Governor Laura Kelly Celebrates Beef Month with Visit to Cross Country Genetics in Kansas


In recognition of National Beef Month, Governor Laura Kelly and Kansas Agriculture Secretary Mike Beam went to Cross Country Genetics (CCG) near Westmoreland. CCG has been a well-known name in the business for more than 20 years, specializing in embryo transfer and donor care management. CCG also operates in Oklahoma in addition to Kansas.

Before the official proclamation signing, Governor Kelly, Secretary Beam, Senator Usha Reddi, Representative Kenny Titus, Representative Lisa Moser, and other industry stakeholders were given an exclusive tour of the CCG facility. The purpose of the visit was to acknowledge and appreciate the tireless efforts of Kansas cattle producers who work diligently every day to protect and preserve the state's natural resources while providing safe, nutritious, and wholesome beef for families worldwide.

During the tour, Governor Kelly and Secretary Beam took the time to commend the hard work and dedication demonstrated by Kansas cattle producers. They recognized the vital role these producers play in maintaining the state's natural resources and ensuring the production of high-quality beef.

Additionally,Governor Kelly highlighted the significant contributions of the Kansas cattle industry to the state's economy, generating nearly $10 billion in annual revenue.

The visit to Cross Country Genetics served as a fitting tribute to Beef Month, showcasing the importance of the industry and the dedication of those involved. Governor Kelly and Secretary Beam's presence emphasized their support for Kansas cattle producers and their commitment to promoting the state's agricultural sector. As the celebration of Beef Month continued, it provided an opportunity to raise awareness of the industry's contributions and the value of sustainable beef production for consumers worldwide.
