Kansas Soybean Harvest Pace Ahead of Average



For the week ending Sunday, there were 5.8 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 48% very short, 30% short, 21% adequate, and 1% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 53% very short, 35% short, 12% adequate, and 0% surplus.

Winter wheat condition rated 20% very poor, 22% poor, 32% fair, 24% good, and 2% excellent. Winter wheat planted was 93%, near 94% last year, and equal to the five-year average. Emerged was 68%, behind 79% last year and 76% average.

Corn harvested was 93%, equal to last year, and near 89% average.

Soybeans harvested was 88%, ahead of 78% last year and 79% average.

Sorghum harvested was 82%, ahead of 77% last year and 70% average.

Cotton harvested was 65%, well ahead of 16% last year and 19% average.

Sunflowers harvested was 78%, near 80% last year, but ahead of 68% average.

Pasture and range conditions rated 51% very poor, 28% poor, 16% fair, 5% good, and 0% excellent.
