The Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) is preparing for the 17th annual Kansas Grape Stomp, a celebration of the grape and farm winery industries, to be held on September 9 at Gottschalk Park during the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson.
Expect a lively atmosphere as attendees gather around grape tubs, eagerly awaiting the spectacle. The spotlight will be on state and local leaders, taking the lead in stomping grapes in a friendly competition. This 'stomp-off' will be the main highlight, followed by an open invitation to all State Fair visitors to try their hand (or feet) at grape stomping.
With 50 farm wineries peppering the state as of August 2023, Kansas's winery industries are flourishing. The KDA, a stalwart supporter of Kansas's agricultural endeavors, beckons everyone to the grape stomp. Not only will it be an entertaining experience, but it also provides a glimpse into the world of grape and farm winery industries in Kansas.
Interested attendees seeking more details about the event can reach out to Robin Dolby, the marketing coordinator at From the Land of Kansas. Robin can be contacted via email at Robin.Dolby@ks.gov or by phone at 785-564-6756.
Come and immerse yourself in a tradition that celebrates the essence of Kansas's agriculture!
