Boost your wheat yield - attend Kansas Wheat RX seminars

By Scout Nelson

Kansas wheat farmers have a unique opportunity to fine-tune their crop production strategies at the upcoming Wheat Rx seminars. Scheduled for March 7, 2024, in Dodge City, and March 8, 2024, in Wichita, these seminars are designed to share the latest insights and research from Kansas State University's leading agricultural experts.

Drs. Romulo Lollato, Carlos Bonini Pires, Kelsey Andersen Onofre, Dorivar Ruiz Diaz, Dan O’Brien, and more will guide attendees through topics such as cover crops, soil health, crop system roles, soil fertility, fungicides, and the economics of wheat production.

Kansas Wheat Rx represents a comprehensive approach to achieving both sustainable and economically viable high-quality winter wheat production in Kansas. By attending, producers will gain knowledge on maximizing new wheat varieties' genetic potential and applying best management practices to overcome environmental challenges and improve profitability.

Aaron Harries, Vice President of Research and Operations for Kansas Wheat, emphasizes the program's role in empowering producers to improve their wheat quality through informed variety selection and effective farming practices.

This initiative is a collaboration between Kansas Wheat and K-State Research and Extension, aiming to distribute the fruits of extensive research investments to Kansas' wheat growers.

Each seminar runs from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. Attendees will enjoy complimentary breakfast and lunch, along with the chance to earn certified crop advisor (CCA) continuing credit units (CEUs).

The registration fee is $110, but members of the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers get the benefit of one free registration.

Don't miss this chance to enhance your wheat production knowledge and network with fellow growers and industry experts. Register for the Dodge City or Wichita seminar today and ensure your place at the forefront of Kansas wheat farming.
