Flooding Threat in Colorado and Kansas, Extreme Heat in Texas

According to National Weather Service maps, eastern Colorado and western Kansas are likely to experience strong storms, increasing the risk of flooding. Severe thunderstorm warnings and watches were issued overnight in eastern Colorado, and flood watches remain in effect in western Kansas through the morning. The anticipated heavy rainfall is expected to cause excessive runoff and potential flooding in the area.

Meanwhile, much of central and south Texas is under an excessive heat warning, with temperatures soaring as high as 119°F this afternoon. Residents in these regions should take necessary precautions to stay safe in the extreme heat.

In northern areas, air quality alerts have been issued for parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and western Michigan. The alerts are due to the movement of smoke from wildfires in Canada, which continues to drift south and east.

Stay informed and stay safe during these weather conditions.
