Kansas State University eagerly awaits its special guest for the Henry C. Gardiner Global Food Systems lecture on Oct. 9. Gregg Doud, a native of Kansas and well-known in the agricultural trade policy domain, is set to take center stage at K-State's McCain Auditorium at 7 p.m.
For those unable to attend, the lecture will be streamed live.
Doud, a market analyst and CEO at the National Milk Producers Federation, has a deep understanding of global food trade. He will discuss the future of agricultural markets at K-State, emphasizing North America's role in meeting global protein demand, highlighting the sector's importance.
He highlights, "The future looks towards North America to meet the rising global protein demand, especially with declining production in regions like Europe." He sees the Central Plains, including Kansas, playing a pivotal role in dairy production.
The Henry C. Gardiner Global Food Systems lecture series, an initiative by K-State, is dedicated to addressing global food concerns through a scientific lens. Funded by the Gardiner family, it celebrates Henry C. Gardiner's vision for an improved beef industry via science and technology.
