One Big Beautiful Bill Moves to House for Final Approval

One Big Beautiful Bill Moves to House for Final Approval

By Jamie Martin

The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) is praising the Senate for passing the One Big Beautiful Bill, which provides essential support for cattle producers. Ethan Lane, NCBA’s Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, urged the House to follow suit and pass the revised version swiftly so President Trump can sign it into law.

Lane explained that the bill shields family farmers and ranchers from potential tax hikes at the end of the year. It also includes provisions that would increase the Death Tax exemption, make the Section 199A tax deduction permanent, and increase the Section 179 tax deduction. These measures are a significant win for cattle producers, providing long-term tax relief.

Another key aspect of the bill is the funding allocated for foreign animal disease prevention programs, which are vital to maintaining the health of the nation’s livestock. In addition to these positive measures, the Senate version of the bill does not include controversial language that had raised concerns. Specifically, it excludes proposals for the sale of public lands and any expansion of eminent domain powers, both of which NCBA strongly opposes.

The NCBA’s grassroots policy supports private property rights for landowners, and the association continues to fight for those rights. Now, the association urges the House to pass the bill so it can be sent to President Trump for signing, ensuring that cattle producers can continue to thrive.
