Hereford Association Welcomes New Leadership

Hereford Association Welcomes New Leadership

By Scout Nelson

The American Hereford Association (AHA) has announced Wyatt Agar as its new president, marking a significant shift in its leadership team, following a thrilling Annual Membership Meeting in Kansas City.

Agar, known for his extensive experience in the field, manages Durbin Creek Ranch and Washakie Feeders in Wyoming. His innovative practices in cattle breeding, especially using advanced technologies like AI and embryo transfer, have set him apart in the industry. With a rich family history in cattle ranching, Agar's leadership is expected to bring a blend of traditional values and modern insights to the association.

The meeting also marked the announcement of Chad Breeding of Miami, Texas, as the vice president for 2024. Raised amidst the rigors of ranch life, Breeding brings a lifetime of hands-on experience and a deep-seated passion for the Hereford breed. His successful track record in producing high-quality cattle is renowned, and his commitment to community service is exemplary.

The AHA has appointed Jerry Delaney, Cindy Pribil, and Scott Sullivan as new directors to bring fresh perspectives to its operations. Delaney, a Minnesota-based family cattle operator, is involved in local agricultural organizations.

Pribil, a fourth-generation breeder, combines practical and academic knowledge in animal science. Sullivan, an Arkansas native, brings significant political and community service to ensure a well-rounded approach to the association's governance.

The AHA is transitioning from tradition to innovation, with the departure of outgoing board members. Under Agar's leadership, the association is focusing on technological advancement, sustainable practices, and community engagement to navigate the modern beef industry challenges.

The American Hereford Association's new leadership aims for progress and promise, reflecting the spirit of cattle breeders and their communities.
