The Kansas Livestock Association (KLA) Convention gears up to shed light on a variety of pivotal topics, ranging from international trade possibilities for beef and dairy sectors to predictions about cattle prices in 2024. The agenda also involves understanding the mindset of consumers when they decide to purchase beef.
Scheduled to be held between Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 in Wichita, the event promises to be a blend of knowledge exchange, management strategies, and technology showcases. The convention presents an opportunity for attendees to weigh in on KLA policy and network with other livestock enthusiasts.
The Cattlemen's Banquet, hosted by Gregg Doud, a seasoned agricultural policy professional, will feature his experiences as chief negotiator, focusing on trade negotiations with China and the U.S. -Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement. Doud will also discuss his vision for the future of beef and dairy exports.
Equally anticipated is CattleFax CEO Randy Blach's session, which promises insights into beef industry economics. He aims to discuss the present state and outlook of the industry, emphasizing herd expansion and its implications for beef availability and profitability.
Mandy Carr Johnson from the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) is set to discuss consumer trends. Her session will touch upon the various factors steering beef purchasing decisions and the ways organizations use this data.
The NCBA President Todd Wilkinson will reflect on the organization's achievements over the past year and offer a roadmap for future endeavors. The convention will also be graced by recognition ceremonies for long-term KLA members and other award presentations.
A major attraction, the KLA Trade Show, will be the hub for convention activities, including discussions about the latest in equipment, technology, and services.
