USDA experts set to engage at 2023 NAFB trade talk event

USDA experts set to engage at 2023 NAFB trade talk event

By Scout Nelson

The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) and Economic Research Service (ERS) are gearing up for this year's National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) Trade Talk. This event promises to be a prime opportunity for interviews with key USDA representatives.

The Trade Talk will take place at the Westin Crown Center Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri, where industry experts and broadcasters will converge for a day of productive interaction.

At booth 91, attendees will have the chance to meet with Lance Honig, the Methodology Division director and current chair of the Agricultural Statistics Board at NASS. Honig will discuss the vital role of NASS data, its users, and its applications, as well as provide insights into recent reports and upcoming surveys.

Joe Prusacki, directing the National Operations Division at NASS, will be ready to answer queries about significant agricultural data releases like the 2022 Census of Agriculture and upcoming surveys on aquaculture, irrigation, water management, and farm economics.

Thomas Worth from ERS will offer the latest research findings on rural economics and conservation, including advances in agricultural technology and the economic factors influencing U.S. farms. He'll also preview the "Rural America at a Glance" report, set to publish just a day before the event.

This informative session is open to all who register, with a focus on providing broadcasters and industry professionals with the latest USDA research and statistics to support comprehensive news reporting on agriculture.
